Welcome from Mr Captain 2019

Welcome to Outlane Golf Club from Philip Turner, Mr Captain 2019

It’s a great honour and privilege to be Captain of Outlane GC, I am proud to think that our members asked me to take on the position and was very pleased to accept.

Outlane GC is very well known for its friendly and welcoming atmosphere, and I invite you to come and try our challenging course which is in excellent condition.  You will find a down to earth Club that nonetheless maintains and upholds the traditions of golf, a superb body of members male female and junior, excellent catering and dedicated greens staff.

Under our new Professional Rob Booth the Club is really moving forward, contact Rob for great deals to potential new members and visiting parties / society packages.  Our catering is renowned and the clubhouse is a great venue for parties, lunches etc. contact our catering manager Caroline to book.

I look forward to the new season with all the challenges that will bring, keeping the old traditions alive and maybe making some new ones… I’m hoping to play a bit of golf as well!

I’ve chosen Hollybank Trust as my charity for the year, a wonderful charity caring for extremely disabled people of all ages, for whom I have worked for many years.  So please when you go in the bunker on the 18th help support them by placing your silver in the box on the bar!

Good luck to all the team Captains during 2018 but especially Joe Beeby, our junior Captain.  Congratulations to Ed Moss on becoming Rabbit Captain.

I would like to thank Bob Sharp, our retiring captain who has done an amazing job in 2018.  If I manage to do half as much as Bob then I will be delighted.  Thanks Bob from everyone at OGC.

Finally, Let’s hope the weather is fine and the golf even better!
